Gary C. - On His Interview
"In my interview I told stories from my time serving during Vietnam and how that led to a career in the early cybersecurity industry where, in turn, I met my wife. Weird how life happens. I wasn't drafted, I volunteered, and I only volunteered because of what my father used to tell me all the time. He'd say, 'make a difference,' all the time. I told my kids the same thing growing up."

Peggy H. - On Her Interview
"I have a strange family history. All down the line, on both sides, my ancestors all had at least two different marriages. So I was raised with so many step-grandparents and step-parents you could run the fifty yard dash down our Thanksgiving table. They all had their different reasons for divorcing and remarrying and some of them aren't with us any more, so I spent a decent part of my interview putting some complicated, but important, family history on the record."

"We used to head down to the shore before the sun came up, when the waves were ice cold. We'd surf all day, drink all night. Of course, this was more than thirty years ago, before I had any kind of serious job, but I still remember those mornings like yesterday. And there were so many great people that I never saw again after I moved. It was nice to talk about them again. You're apart of such an influential, tight-knit community a few times in your life."

"I've found that retirement has really given me a much clearer perspective on life. I don't really know what did it, but I just know the first moment I realized I had nothing to do something changed inside me. I worked for twenty straight years, hardly took any vacations. And when I did it was always visiting family, never something relaxing. But when I had that first day off, I realized why I had worked so hard all those years."

"The auto business is different than other markets. When I started my shop, it was mainly family owned garages in my town. Then slowly, all these shops started creeping in, with the same generic names, same logos. It wasn't just Jimmy's Oil or Sinclair Repair anymore. Those were tough times. The business almost went under. But I'll tell you why it didn't. We had good people. Great people working in our garage. Better than those corporate suits could ever find..."

"My mother was like no other. She really worked hard for us. And I mean hard. Every afternoon, after a morning shift at the restaurant, she'd lug this massive cart down outside Grand Central and sell flowers for some extra cash just so her kids could eat too. And somehow, with all that time working, she still found a way to still be there for us..."

"At lot of my early twenties was a blur, I spent so much time studying. My undergrad was in Computer Engineering, then I did my master's in Applied Computational Mathematics. So I didn't really spent a lot of time outside so to say. Except, we went down to Maggianno's a lot. We sat in this one booth by the kitchen and that was the booth where we came up with the idea for our DataStream.com. From then on I don't even remember studying, I just remember all the conversations we had in that very booth to coming up with a business plan..."

Ann L. - On Her Interview
"I really did this for my grandkids. They're young right now and there's so much I want to tell them, but they're just not old enough to listen yet. So I really did this as a kind of letter to the future them, letting them know about their grandmother and all the crazy things I did in my life. I had a lot of life lessons to share with them, things that I tell them today, but know that they'll really understand what I'm saying when they're older and a bit wiser."

Carrie G. - From Her LifeCap. Portrait™
"I can't imagine where my life would've gone if I had given in and not gotten on that plane. I mean, not only did I get over my fear of flying, in that moment everything in my life changed. I didn't know I wouldn't step back on American soil for ten more years. As far as I was concerned, I was just visiting my friend in Ireland for a few weeks. Who knew a week later I'd have a job and be looking for apartments. God, now I wonder how my father ever got through it."
